| Wicked Costume Drama No Fringe would be complete without a 14th century musical comedy. It's delivered by Londoners in the vein of an extended Pythonesque skit - the tale of a wandering minstrel who steals the buxom serving wench, Mathilde, right out from under the unrequited attentions of poor Lord George Ponsonby. Lord George vows to avenge himself - but will the black plague get them first? With shades of Chaucer, it is all very ribald. There is even an R-rated Punch and Judy show. It's a wicked little costume drama parody on a shoestring. The Advertiser, Adelaide, 28th February 06 |
